What are Clientpacks?

Follow

Clientpacks are the X.509 credentials associated with a specific Overlay Network IP address. You can use a tunneling agent (e.g. OpenVPN) to connect to a VNS3 controller and into the Overlay Network. The number of clientpacks you have will determine how many servers can directly join the Overlay Network.

Clientpacks are available as a single configuration file, optimized for Linux and Windows. Each clientpack file contains the certificates and keys needed to connect to the Controller embedded within it. Each clientpack is named by the associated Overlay address.

Create new clientpacks
To regenerate clientpacks, delete an old, outdated, or lost client pack to create a new and unique clientpack. This is ideal if you are running a road warrior VPN setup.

Access Considerations
Depending on the OS your cloud server is running, you will need to add access to VNS3 security groups via RDP 3389 (Windows) or SSH 22 (Linux). Additionally, you will need to grant TCP port 8000 access between vns3 security groups.
